Get Involved

Institutes of Technology (IoTs) were established by the Government to ensure businesses get the skills and talent they need to thrive, while supporting individuals with their careers. With local employers including Siemens, Hitachi, Dell, MOOG and St Modwen as core partners and members of our governing bodies, we are committed to identifying future skills needs and supporting technological innovation to drive economic growth, both locally and nationally.

We are proud to be working in collaboration with so many local businesses.  Employer engagement is critical to the design, delivery and strategic direction of our Institute.

  • Join our Employer Advisory Board to ensure our Institute is employer-led.

  • Provide specialist guest lecturers, webinars or careers talks.

  • Provide placement opportunities.

  • Offer industry visits to give students the opportunity to see your business and understand the kind of jobs available.

  • Provide our students with a live brief or project, which is related to your organisation or sector. This allows students to address real life issues and develop skills which will assist them in securing future employment.

"Bringing employers to the table right from the off means we can help shape the curriculum to reflect rapidly-changing skills needs in our respective industries. It also helps offer learners the very best stepping-stone into future careers by bringing real life application into day-to-day classroom learning. At St. Modwen Logistics we are passionate about nurturing the next generation of talent, and by working alongside the IoT and its partners we hope to play our part in creating a high-wage, high skill economy for the region as well as making a difference to hundreds of young people."
