Siemens

Siemens AG is a global technology company established in 1847, currently approaching 300,000 employees in 200 countries with a global revenue of €55.3bn and a net income of €4.2bn. Siemens has a primary focus on the future of technology and making a definite difference to the planet.

Siemens

To date, Siemens is divided into 4 sectors: Industry, Infrastructure, Mobility and Healthcare. The current mission for Siemens as an international company (and has been for many years) is to shape and mould industrial revolutions, diving into digitalisation and combing the 4 divisions to transform the future

We are a technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare. From more resource-efficient factories, resilient supply chains, and smarter buildings and grids, to cleaner and more comfortable transportation as well as advanced healthcare, we create technology with purpose adding real value for customers.

Siemens Congleton was founded in 1971 and is the oldest Siemens factory in the UK. But that doesn’t mean that we’re old-fashioned! We have the highest productivity rate per square metre of any Siemens site in the UK, which has allowed us to put effort into new product innovation and help us grow the number of customers we work with and support new sectors.

The team at Congleton designs, manufactures and offers technical support for variable speed drives – sometimes called inverters – which are devices that connect to motors to control their speed and make them more efficient.

Our team of 500 people working in a range of different departments – from Research and Development, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Sales, Procurement and many more – help create more than one million electrical devices each year. These devices support customers working in sectors as broad as food manufacturing, oil & gas, water & waste water, heating ventilation & air conditioning and aerospace.

We strive to continuously improve and work as part of a global network of key leading factories from across Siemens that aim to push the boundaries of innovation in manufacturing.

We put sustainability at the core of everything we do and are a leading example of how to reduce carbon emissions in UK manufacturing. We use local green energy supplied by Dane Valley Community Energy at Havannah Weir on the river Dane and through our on-site renewable energy generation. And, we are educating local children about the importance of minimising energy wastage.

Our purpose is “doing what others can’t, for generations to come” and to do so we believe in being embedded in the community. We’re not just based in Congleton, we’re proud to be a part of its story now and for the future.
